The adoption of updated energy codes is occurring much more quickly than usual, driven by new state laws. Most Colorado Front Range jurisdictions are on or are moving to the 2021 or 2024 IECC and incorporating the Colorado Model Ready Solar and Electric Codes. In addition, there is a new code on the horizon, the Colorado Low Energy Carbon Code, which will replace the IECC and Model codes.
